Police Arrest 65-Year-Old Man With Over 1,000 Rounds Of Ammunition In Anambra The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 65-year-old man for unlawful possession of over 1,000 rounds of live ammunition in the state. The arrest was made during an intelligence-led operation aimed at curbing the proliferation of illegal arms and ammunition in the region. Security operatives recovered a large cache of red shotgun cartridges, ammunition boxes, and related items during the raid. According to reports, the suspect was apprehended after operatives traced suspicious arms movements in the area. The seized items have been taken into custody as part of ongoing investigations to uncover the source and intended use of the ammunition. The State Police Command has assured residents that it remains committed to tackling gun-related crimes and dismantling criminal networks across Anambra.

RESIDENTS REPORTEDLY KILL 37 BANDITS IN ZAMFARA STATE  At least 37 bandits were reportedly killed in Matusgi village, Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State, after residents engaged a gang that had invaded the village with the intent to abduct locals. Ideal Reporters gathered that the bandits arrived on motorbikes around 2 p.m. on Wednesday, aiming to carry out abductions, saying it was not the first time the villagers had confronted bandits, but it was the first instance where they managed to inflict significant casualties. YAHAYA BELLO SEEKS TRANSFER OF EFFCC CASE AGAINST HIM TO KOGI Yahaya Bello, the embattled former Governor of Kogi State has requested for transfer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)'s case against him to Kogi State. Bello argues that since the alleged offense occurred during his tenure as governor of the state, it is only appropriate for the legal proceedings to be conducted there. The EFCC has been investigating Bello's alleged financial misconduct and misuse of public funds while in office. The Court of Appeal in Abuja had earlier set aside the contempt proceedings instituted by Bello, against the Chairman of the Commission, Olanipekun Olukoyede. EFFCC TASKFORCE ARRESTS 34  CURRENCY SPECULATORS IN ABUJA Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, attached to Taskforce on Currency mutilation, dollarization of the economy and forex malpractice, have arrested 34 suspected currency speculators for alleged foreign exchange fraud. LAUTECH STUDENTS PROTEST KILLING OF FELLOW STUDENT Students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, took to the street yesterday blocking roads to protest the alleged killing of fellow student. The victim lossed his life to a fight that broke out among students of the school at a nightclub in Ogbomoso on Monday night. Ideal Reporters learnt that the incident was caused by a misunderstanding, which led to a fight between two groups of students at a popular joint in Ogbomosho. Ideal Reporters gathered that the fight broke out while students were celebrating convocation ceremony of the school. LAUTECH spokesman Lekan Fadeyi disclosed that the unfortunate incident did not happen on campus, as it took place around midnight at a hotel situated at Under G area of Ogbomosho. US-BASED NIGERIAN BODYBUILDER SHOT BY WIFE  Michael Chidozie , a Nigerian US-based body builder died 18 days after being shot multiple times by his wife, Keaiirra Shavoiyae . The sad event followed intense argument between the couple on March 21, Daily Mail reports on Monday. According to Daily Mail on Monday, April 15, the father of two was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital after the Police found him with gunshot wounds and his wife in a panic holding their two kids, aged three and two. Chidozie remained on life support but eventually died due to complications from a severe spinal injury on April 8th.
