TRAGEDY IN RAFIN GABAS AS MINING SITE COLLAPSE CLAIMS FIVE LIVES

A tragic incident struck the community of Rafin Gabas, a village under Agwada Administrative Council in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, as a mining site collapsed, claiming five lives.

The incident occurred around midnight on Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Coworkers of the victims made desperate efforts to rescue them, but sadly only recovered their lifeless bodies.

Residents of the area, joined by sympathizers from neighboring communities, have since gathered to mourn and extend condolences to the bereaved families. 

Community leaders also offered prayers for the repose of the souls of the deceased and called for urgent safety measures to prevent a recurrence of such tragic incidents in mining sites across the region.
