SUBEB Executive Secretary Commends Udege Education Authority, School Management During Working Visit

The Executive Secretary of Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Ashiya Ahmed, has reaffirmed the Board's commitment to improving the quality of basic education across the state as she paid a working visit to the Udege Area Administrative Council Education Authority.

The visit formed part of the Executive Secretary's routine assessment and monitoring of schools and education authorities to evaluate performance, identify challenges and strengthen service delivery within the basic education sector.

During the visit, Dr. Ashiya Ahmed met with the management and staff of the Udege Area Administrative Council Education Authority, where she held fruitful discussions on strategies for improving teaching and learning, effective school administration, staff commitment and enhanced educational outcomes across the area.

She commended the Education Secretary and members of staff of the Authority for their dedication, teamwork and commitment to advancing basic education despite existing challenges. She expressed satisfaction with the level of coordination within the Authority and encouraged them to sustain the momentum in delivering quality educational services to the people.

The SUBEB Executive Secretary also visited Pilot Science Central Primary School, Mararaba Udege, where she interacted warmly with pupils and teachers. She encouraged the pupils to remain disciplined, take their studies seriously and strive for academic excellence, reminding them that education remains the foundation for a brighter future.

Addressing teachers and other members of staff, Dr. Ashiya Ahmed stressed the importance of punctuality, diligence and professionalism, urging them to continue discharging their responsibilities with dedication in order to justify the confidence reposed in them by the government and the people.

She further appealed to parents, particularly mothers, to prioritise the education of their children, especially the girl-child, by ensuring regular school attendance and providing the necessary support for their academic success.

As part of the visit, the Executive Secretary also inspected Pilot Science Central Primary School, Odeni Gida, where she expressed delight at the impressive level of pupils' enrolment and the commitment demonstrated by the school management.

She commended the Headmaster and members of staff of the school for their hard work and unwavering dedication to improving enrolment, teaching and learning. She also praised the Odeni Gida community and the community's elite for their collective support towards the growth and development of education, noting that such collaboration remains essential to achieving quality basic education.

Dr. Ashiya reiterated the determination of SUBEB to continue working closely with education authorities, school administrators, teachers, parents and community stakeholders to ensure that every child in Nasarawa State has access to quality basic education in a conducive learning environment.
