Supposed Beneficiary Alleges Solar-Powered Kiosk Was Retrieved After SEEDS Empowerment Ceremony In Nasarawa

A female beneficiary of the Nasarawa State Government's SEEDS Empowerment Programme, Bintu Sadeeq, has alleged that a solar-powered kiosk presented to her during the official empowerment ceremony was retrieved shortly afterward and handed to another person.

Bintu made the allegation in a post published on her Facebook page, where she expressed disappointment over the incident while stating that she had chosen to leave the matter to God.

According to her, she was publicly announced as one of the beneficiaries and received the key to the solar-powered kiosk during the empowerment programme attended by the Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule.

Sharing a photograph taken during the event, she wrote:

"This picture was taken the day I was announced and received the key to my kiosk during the empowerment programme by His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule. I was grateful; I said Alhamdulillah and thanked everyone.

"A few minutes later the key was collected from me and given to someone else. It hurt, but I choose to move on and leave my case to Allah - Al-Adl, the Most Just. And do not think Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do (Qur'an 14:42).

"May Allah guide us all and replace me with something better. Ameen."

The SEEDS Empowerment Programme reportedly empowered 50 beneficiaries with solar-powered kiosks and ₦100,000 each as working capital to support small-scale businesses and improve livelihoods across the state.

Although Bintu did not state who collected the key from her or the reason for the action, her claim has attracted reactions on social media, with many users expressing sympathy and calling on the organizers of the programme to explain what transpired.

Some commenters urged the authorities to investigate the allegation and, if found to be true, ensure that the matter is addressed in the interest of fairness and transparency. Others encouraged the beneficiary to remain hopeful despite the experience.

As of the time of filing this report, the Nasarawa State Government and the Management of the SEEDS Empowerment Programme had not issued any official statement regarding the allegation.

The circumstances surrounding the alleged retrieval of the kiosk remain unclear, and Ideal Reporters could not independently verify the claim. Efforts to obtain comments from the relevant authorities were unsuccessful as of press time.
