Nasarawa Assembly Clears New Revenue Service Leadership

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has approved the appointment of a new leadership team for the Nasarawa State Internal Revenue Service (NSIRS), naming Ibrahim Sarki Adamu (Tancy Al-Makura), as Executive Chairman alongside three board members.

The confirmation took place during plenary in Lafia, with proceedings led by the Speaker, Danladi Jatau. Lawmakers endorsed the nominees after what was described as a satisfactory screening process, citing their experience, capacity, and the confidence placed in them by Governor Abdullahi A. Sule.

Those confirmed to serve on the board include Ibrahim Hamza, Canaan Costine Wando, and Usman Adams.

In his remarks, the Speaker urged the newly approved officials to work collectively and bring fresh energy into the state’s revenue generation drive. He also assured them of the Assembly’s continued legislative backing to ensure effective service delivery.

Speaking shortly after his confirmation, the new NSIRS Chairman, Ibrahim Sarki Adamu, pledged to reposition the agency through strategic collaboration and innovative internal reforms aimed at boosting the state’s internally generated revenue.

Following the exercise, the Assembly directed its Clerk to formally communicate the resolution to Governor Sule for final action.
