Tension Mounts In Nasarawa As Bandits Allegedly Plan Midnight Attack On Udenin Gida

Residents of Udenin Gida in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State are gripped by fear following reports of an impending midnight attack by armed bandits who have recently unleashed violence on surrounding communities.

According to local sources, the assailants believed to be over 300 in number were responsible for coordinated attacks on Akyawa and Udegen Ƙasa communities, where houses were razed, properties destroyed, and scores of lives lost. The scale and intensity of the assault have left neighboring settlements in panic, with many residents fleeing or seeking refuge in safer areas.

The attacks are said to be a continuation of earlier violence recorded in Sabon Gida (also known as Gidan Ogiri), raising concerns over a sustained campaign of terror across the area. Witnesses and community members report that the attackers have been moving freely between communities, often without resistance, further heightening fears of another imminent strike.

With intelligence now pointing to Udenin Gida as the next target, residents are urgently calling on security agencies and the Nasarawa State Government to intervene swiftly to prevent further bloodshed.

Community leaders have expressed frustration over what they describe as delayed or inadequate response to previous attacks, warning that failure to act decisively could result in another humanitarian tragedy.

“This is no longer a random occurrence. These attacks are becoming systematic, and innocent people are paying the price,” a resident lamented.

As the clock ticks toward the reported time of the planned attack, calls are intensifying for the deployment of security personnel, aerial surveillance, and emergency response teams to the threatened community.

Stakeholders emphasize that proactive measures at this critical moment could save lives, protect property, and restore a measure of confidence among vulnerable rural populations.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the latest development. Meanwhile, residents remain on edge, hoping for urgent intervention before the situation escalates further.
