Senator Ned Nwoko Gives Detailed Account Of His Ordeal With Regina Daniels And Her Family

The controversy surrounding Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, has taken a new turn following the Senator’s public statement detailing what he described as his “ordeal” in the hands of his wife and her family members.

Reacting to the public outcry and viral videos shared online by Regina’s relatives, Senator Nwoko took to social media to clarify the situation, releasing videos and a detailed written statement outlining his side of the story.

According to the lawmaker representing Delta North Senatorial District, Regina’s brother, Sammy Daniels, had made repeated visits to his residence, allegedly harassing his children and domestic staff, especially in his absence. Nwoko described the visits as “aggressive and disruptive,” despite having supported the family extensively over the years.

“These videos show Sammy, Regina’s brother, repeatedly coming to my home and harassing my children and domestic staff. This is someone I sponsored through his last two years at the University of Ekpoma, bought musical instruments for, rented and furnished an apartment for in Abuja, and supported financially. In the last two years alone, I transferred ₦125 million to Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels,” he stated.

Senator Nwoko further alleged that Regina’s behavior had become troubling, prompting him to arrange medical rehabilitation due to what he described as her dependence on certain illegal substances. He claimed that the treatment was constantly disrupted by her siblings and close friends, who allegedly smuggled in the same substances she was being treated for.

“Sammy, Destiny, and their friends, including Sonia Uche, often defied doctors’ instructions and frustrated the entire therapy process,” he said, noting that this conduct made meaningful recovery difficult.

The Senator also claimed that some members of Regina’s circle were directly involved in the same habit and that their continued interference contributed to instability in his household.

He recounted a number of incidents, including confrontations with Regina’s siblings and friends, late-night outings, and acts of defiance, which he said created tension and disrupted peace at home.

“There were occasions when Regina left home overnight, ignored my calls, and returned the next morning from nightclubs. Her response was, ‘You are not my father, so don’t ask me where I was.’ Such behavior was often influenced by the company she kept,” he revealed.

On the viral video showing Regina’s siblings confronting his security personnel, Senator Nwoko dismissed claims that he sent thugs to harm her, describing the incident as a “staged scene” recorded in front of his residence.

“Everything happened in my absence. Nobody was beaten. It was filmed in front of my house by her sister and friend — a pure Nollywood scenario,” he clarified.

Senator Nwoko, who maintained that he neither drinks nor smokes, described the experience as emotionally draining, noting that he endured much of the situation for the sake of his children.

He also expressed disappointment that his goodwill toward Regina’s family had been met with hostility, citing instances where he sponsored her brothers’ education and offered them opportunities for rehabilitation and growth.

“I sponsored Lawrence to study for a master’s degree in London with $75,000 and offered Sammy the same opportunity, which he declined. Unfortunately, Sammy has been arrested several times and needs urgent professional rehabilitation,” Nwoko said.

As of the time of filing this report, Regina Daniels and her family have yet to issue a formal response to Senator Nwoko’s statement.

Efforts by The Ideal Reporters to reach Regina Daniels or her representatives for comments on the Senator’s claims were unsuccessful as of press time. The report will be updated as soon as a response is made available.
