Air Chief Convenes Commanders in Abuja, Orders Tougher Air Campaign Against Terrorists
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has summoned all Air Component Commanders of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) from across the country to the Force Headquarters in Abuja for a crucial security meeting aimed at reinforcing the nation’s counterterrorism efforts.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, focused on evaluating ongoing operations and developing new strategies to deal more decisively with terrorists and other criminal groups operating in parts of the country.
In his address, Air Marshal Abubakar charged the commanders to intensify air strikes and sustain coordinated attacks on terrorist enclaves, warning against any form of laxity. He stressed that the Air Force must remain proactive and unrelenting until total peace is achieved nationwide.
He also called for closer collaboration between the air components and other security agencies to ensure intelligence-driven operations and efficient resource deployment.
According to NAF sources, the meeting reviewed recent gains recorded through precision air strikes in the North-East, North-West, and North-Central regions, where several terrorist camps were reportedly destroyed.
Air Marshal Abubakar reaffirmed the Air Force’s commitment to safeguarding Nigeria’s airspace and supporting the broader national security architecture under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
He concluded by assuring citizens that the NAF will continue to deliver on its mandate of defending the territorial integrity of the country and protecting innocent lives from criminal aggression.
