Activists To Return To Court Over Unpaid N-Power Funds

Bello Galadanci, popularly known as Dan Bello and a Civic Rights Activist and Philanthropist, alongside Kano-based Human Rights Activist, Barrister Abba Hikima, has vowed to return to court over the prolonged delay in the payment of N-Power beneficiaries.

Dan Bello, who made the declaration, said their patience had run out after assurances given by the then Minister of Humanitarian Affairs — now National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda — that the outstanding funds would be settled since July.

“Myself and Barrister Abba Hikima have resolved to return to court over the N-Power funds which the then Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Nentawe, said would soon be paid since July. We will return to court at the end of this month when the court resumes from vacation so that the case can continue. We had given them a grace period after they pleaded for patience, but now our patience has run out because we have not heard from them despite the promises they made.” Dan Bello said.

The Honourable Minister, Mentee is now National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Dan Bello stressed that with government still silent despite repeated promises, the court remains the only avenue to seek justice when it resumes from vacation at the end of this month.

The planned legal action underscores the growing frustration among unpaid N-Power participants who accuse government of neglecting its obligations under the youth empowerment scheme.
