Governor Radda To Proceed On Three-Week Medical Leave, Deputy to Act In His Absence
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON, has announced that he will commence a three-week medical leave starting Monday, August 18, 2025, in order to attend to personal health matters.
In a statement, Governor Radda thanked the people of Katsina State for their prayers, goodwill, and understanding, noting that the break is necessary to enable him return with renewed strength to continue steering the affairs of the state.
“Prioritizing my health is essential so I can continue to serve effectively and make the right decisions for our state. I deeply appreciate everyone’s kind words and support, and I look forward to resuming my duties once my medical checks are concluded,” the governor said.
To ensure the smooth running of government activities, Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal, HCIB (Sarkin Fulanin Jobe), will serve as Acting Governor during the period. Governor Radda expressed full confidence in his deputy’s capacity to sustain the administration’s momentum and uphold its commitments.
The state government assured residents that all programs, projects, and initiatives under the “Building Your Future Agenda” will continue without disruption.
Governor Radda’s administration has been widely noted for its focus on infrastructure development, human capital growth, and improved governance. The government says it looks forward to welcoming him back in good health to carry on with the mission of transforming the state.
