The Honorable Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Dr. Ibrahim Tanko, briefed the press on the outcomes of the meeting, which took place today, March 11, 2025.

The council addressed the long-standing issue of delays in payment of local government salaries, with the Hon Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Alh Aminu Mu'azu Maifata assuring that salaries will be paid within the week. This development is expected to bring relief to local government employees who have been facing financial hardships due to the delays.

In another significant decision, the council approved the engagement of consultants for the screening of local government staff. The representative of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Barr. Abubakar Madaki, explained the modalities for the exercise, which will be carried out by three approved companies. This move aims to ensure transparency and accountability in the local government staffing process.

The council also received updates on agricultural programs implemented by local government councils, demonstrating the state government's commitment to promoting agricultural development and food security.

These decisions demonstrate the Nasarawa State government's proactive approach to addressing the welfare of local government employees and promoting transparency and accountability in governance.
