NASARAWA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE ON ENVIRONMENT TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING, CALLS FOR SUBMISSION OF MEMORANDUM
The Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Environment is set to public hearing on Monday, 30th December, 2024 at the Assembly Complex by 10:00am.
Chairman, House Committee on Environment, Hon. Mohammed Adamu Omadefu made this known to the Press.
The event is expected to draw representatives of the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Nasarawa State Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Nasarawa State Ministry of Health, Nasarawa State Ministry of Justice, Nasarawa State Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.
Others include Nasarawa State Ministry of Humanitarian, Social Services and NGOs, the Nigerian Mining Cadestral, the Nasarawa State Geographical and Information Service, NAGIS, the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, the Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency, NASEMA and interested unions, groups and individuals.
The Committee will be receiving submissions from interest the said sections with regards to the "Bill for a law to provide for registration and control of issuance of land consent and community agreements to mining entities by mining companies and other matters related thereto".
Going by increasing complaints emanating from communities hosting investors, particularly foreign companies, the general public should take advantage of the opportunity "hearing" to make their case.
