TRACKA DRAWS ATTENTION OF FEDERAL MINISTRY OF WORKS ON ROAD REHABILITATION PROJECT IN NASARAWA


Tracka, a product of Civic Tech Organization that is committed to raising the standard of transparency, citizen engagement and accountability in public finance has called on the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing to furnish the general public with details of rehabilitation work on Ecobank Road in Nasarawa, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The rehabilitation project was allegedly allocated to the tune of N71.7 million but has not been facilitated to this day, consequently raising concerns.

Tracka revealed that the said sum was captured in the 2024 Budget but the purpose for which it was allocated has not been carried out.

"N71.7m was allocated to the Limited Rehabilitation of Ecobank Road in Nasarawa LGA, Nasarawa state in the 2024 FG Budget. We tracked and report that this project has not been done". 

The project, believed to have been completed in 2022 has suddenly resurfaced as observed by Tracka, publishing the information on its officially verified X and Facebook handles. The condition of the Road wherein, potholes are visible was also noted. 

Since the release, there have been mixed reactions by the people, as gathered by Ideal Reporters, with many demanding explanation.
