PRESIDENT TINUBU SCRAPS NIGER DELTA MINISTRY AND MINISTRY OF SPORTS DEVELOPMENT

Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has scrapped Ministries for Niger Delta Development and that of Sports Development. This was announced by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on his official X handle.

The decision was reached at the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday. The National Sports Commission will take over the role of the Ministry of Sports " he noted.

In the same vein, the Federal Executive Council has approved the merger of Ministry of Tourism with Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy.

In view of scraping of Ministry of Niger Delta Development, Onanuga stated that "there will now be a ministry of Regional Development to oversee all the Regional Development Commissions, such as Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission and North East Development Commission.

Since this development affects Ministers of Niger Delta, Tourism, and Culture and Creative Economy, Nigerians are keenly observing how the gap would be reconciled. At the moment, a cabinet reshuffle has long been expected.
