AZMAN AIRLINE SUSPENDS OPERATIONS, DIRECTS STAFF TO EMBARK ON COMPULSORY LEAVE

Azman Air has suspended operations and mandated all of its entire workforce to embark on compulsory leave. Only eight senior staff of the Airline are reportedly exempted from the leave.

This development is contained in a circular signed by the Human Resources Manager, Magaji Mohammed Misau, dated 3rd August, 2023.

The circular titled “Placement Of Leave Without Pay,” reads; “As you are aware, our domestic operations have been put on hold for a while, due to the conveyance of our Aircraft for C-Checks and the MROS’ has given a longer time of completion write and communicate its decision that all staff has been placed on Leave Without Pay with effect from 1” August, 2023″.

The Azman Air Public Relations Officer, Nurudeen Aliyu, noted that the development was informed by maintenance of aircrafts which the Airline company has embarked on.

He revealed that the airline’s domestic operation and staff members are meant to resume in October 2024.

“Two of our aircrafts are in maintenance and 3 are due for C-check and that’s why we suspended our domestic operation. Our aircraft will be back in October.

“The overhead is heavy so the management decided to put the company on hold,” Aliyu stated.

Azman Airline has previously faced problems, with its license suspended in 2022, over a N1.2billion ticket sales debt and expiration of documents.
