WHY RUSSIAN FLAG ?

Emerging scenario has ensued in Kano, the Kano State capital, where protesters fly Russian Flag side by side Nigerian. 

Angry youths who took to the street on Thursday, August 1, to protest against economic hardship have resorted to flying Russian Flag, as some of them chant the name of President Vladimir Putin, even saying he should intervene. 

Concerned Nigerians who spoke to Ideal Reporters wonder why the new development ?. Why Russian Flag, they ask ?. 

The now three days old protest has claimed properties including tens of lives, with looting, vandalism, destruction and killings taking over in some areas. 

This new development, according to some, should cause government to take immediate action; seek to know how and why this trend emerged, as it may have connection with those calling for military takeover, hoping that Russia may provide support to that end. 

It is widely believed that Russia supports Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic, the trio of which are led by military government following coup.

Of equal need is for government to adopt measures to calm protesters, giving them convincing reasons to halt ongoing protest while assuring them of improved living condition, as well as cutting cost of governance, which happens to be part of their call. The use of force, Ideal Reporters gathered may only cause more deaths. 

The authority is advised to handle the situation with extra-cautions, especially the Police. Military officials have been commended for their handling of the situation, as some of them were seen calming down, even helping protesters..
