DANGOTE REFINERY POSTPONES PRODUCTION TO JULY

Dangote Refinery has postponed commencement of petrol production earlier scheduled for June to mid-July.

The announcement about the new production date at the $20 billion facility in Lagos was confirmed by Alh. Aliko Dangote, the President/CEO of the refinery, during a meeting with journalists on Monday.

Dangote explained that the rescheduling of the date was consequent upon minor delay, leading to the transition from the initially planned June to the middle of July.

He said, “We had a bit of delay, but PMS will start coming out by 10 to 15 of July. But then we want to keep it in tank to make sure that it settles. So by third week of July, we’ll be coming out to take it into the market,”

It is hoped that production may increase supply and slightly see to price reduction, which impact may be enormous on the prices of commodities Nigerians are finding hard to afford.
