SUNNAH HOSPITAL TO BE ESTABLISHED IN NASARAWA
Recognizing the importance of putting in place sound healthcare delivery system with a view to seeing to the sustenance of progressive community, Jama'atu Izalatil Bid'ah Wa Iqamatil Sunnah, Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State has nurtured the idea of building standard hospital; Sunnah Hospital in Nasarawa.
This was disclosed by Sheikh Dr. Abdulkarim Suleiman at a public lecture themed "Health Is Wealth" which held Friday May 3, 2024 at Masjid Ammar Bn Yasir, Downbase.
The Sheikh decried poor poor quality of service offered by the few hospitals in Nasarawa, citing instances where wrong medications were administered on patients, complicating their already worrisome condition.
Negligence to duty and inexperience on the side of medical personnel were part of the reasons identified for poor service rendered at both public and private hospitals. He therefore stated that arrangements are on top gear to commence construction work, which groundbreaking shall take place before Eid-el Kabir.
Earlier, Sheikh Ja'afar Musa Loko presented a lecturer on the same theme, justifying the need for sound healthcare delivery in Islam. Sheikh Ja'afar who observed that Islam encourages the Ummah to prioritize their health, noted that since the days of the Rasool, there were health professionals who attended to various health conditions of the Sahaba (companions of the prophet), with his approval and motivation.
He reminded that the first hospital in history that was structured into Wards and Departments was built in Baghdad by Muslims and that Muslim scholars like Ibn Sinah contributed immensely to the field of medicine and sciences generally, called on authorities to prosecute quack medical officials in order to control their excesses, saving lives in the process. Further, he enjoined the Ummah to support actualize the idea, reiterating the theme, health is wealth.
Sheikh Adam Isah Shekarau, leader of Izalah in Nasarawa emphasized the need for birthing the hospital, adding that consultants from Nasarawa and related professionals working elsewhere will be reached to also render their services upon completion.
