SEN. SHEHU SANI WISH PRESIDENT BOLA TINUBU HAPPY EID-EL FITR IN ADVANCE, ADVISED AGAINST PUBLIC OFFICIALS USE OF PUBLIC FUNDS TO HIRE PRIVATE JETS 



Sen. Shehu Sani who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th Senate on Monday took to his X handle popular known as Twitter to wish President Bola Ahmed Tinubu happy Eid-el Fitr celebration in advance. 

The ex-lawmaker who is renown for speaking out on matters of interest also advised Mr President not to allow elected and appointed officials to use public funds for hiring private jets in the name of coming to greet him for Sallah. 

"I wish the President a happy Eid al Fitr in advance; and please Your Excellency, tell all Elected and Appointed Public Officials not to spend public funds hiring private jets just to come and “greet you” for Sallah" he wrote. 

Nigerians have been showing concern over extravagant life lived by public officials while the vast majority of the population live in abject poverty, more so that subsidy removal on PMS and now electricity tariff has made life unbearable for them. 

It is widely believed that until cost of governance is reduced to the barest minimum, with public officials living moderately, the common man will find it difficult trusting them. 

Little wonder the many comments and reactions to his post on his handle and in the wider space, aligning with his call, as observed by Ideal Reporters.
