NASARAWA STATE GOVERNMENT FROWNS AT INVOLVEMENT OF POLITICAL APPOINTEES IN CHAMPAIGNS
Nasarawa State Government has expressed dismay over involvement of political appointees in political activities and campaigns, cautioned them to exercise restraint.
This was contained in a statement signed by Secretary to the State Government, Barr. Muhammad Ubandoma Aliyu. The statement reads in part "The Administration is focused on the delivery of infrastructural development, economic empowerment and sustainable growth of Nasarawa State and will not want to be distracted ".
Ubandoma also added that "However, it has been observed with dismay that some political appointees under the present Administration are actively participating in political activities including campaigns ".
"Accordingly, Government frowns at this unfortunate trends and will want to caution these political office holders to exercise restrain as such illegal political expedition constitute a breach of Electoral Act and is distracting the focus of Government in the delivery of service to the good people of Nasarawa State". - the statement added.
"Consequently, all political office holders with the ambition of contesting for political positions and supporting others who wish to contest are hereby advised to either resign their appointments or wait until the ban for political activities is lifted by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC)" - the statement also reads.
This development, according to sources available to Ideal Reporters, followed showcasing of interest into various elective offices including that of Nasarawa State Governor come 2027 which has already begin to set some key players apart, distracting the State Government as a result.
The statement was concluded by resounding warning "Government will not longer condone any act of disloyalty and insubordination on the part of its appointees.".
