MEASLES KILL 42 CHILDREN IN ADAMAWA STATE



No fewer than 40 children have reportedly died following outbreak of measles in Adamawa State, Northeastern part of Nigeria.

Outbreak of the disease was recorded in the Mubi North and Gombi Local Government Areas of the State, Ideal Reporters gathered.


23 deaths were recorded in Mubi, with 19 more in Gombi as revealed by Adamawa State Primary Health Development Agency.

While the exact number of people affected by measles has yet to be officially disclosed, there are suspected cases of polio in the State, our sources revealed. Further information gathered has it that a team of medical experts are working assiduously to tackle the outbreaks.

Hon. Felix Tangwami,  Commissioner of Health confirmed the outbreak, stating that "details, including mortalities will be given tomorrow at a press briefing to be addressed by the Deputy Governor".
