NASARAWA CENTRAL MOSQUE COMMISIONED BY THE SULTAN OF SOKOTO, HIS EMINENCE ALH. SA'AD ABUBAKAR III
The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alh. Sa'ad Abubakar lll has on Friday, 16th February, 2024 commisioned Nasarawa Central Mosque in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State which was named after the founder and first Emir of Nasarawa Emirate, Umaru Makama Dogo.
The Modern Mosque was first built by the 9th Emir of Nasarawa, Alh. Jibrin Mairiga in 1970, with its reconstruction initiated by the 11th Emir, Hassan Ahmed 7 years ago. Being specially constructed from ground zero, there is, attached to it, an Islamiyya school named after the Sultan.
Announcing the naming earlier at fundraising event at the Palace, His Royal Highness, Alh. Ibrahim Usman Jibril, the 12th and current Emir of Nasarawa prayed for the soul of his predecessors to have external rest in Jannah, further stated that though the work gulped over a billion naira, much would have been extended had young indigenous professionals, most aged 30 and below, been involved from inception, who offered their services for free. He therefore called on other communities to emulate Nasarawa by engaging their industrious youths in meaningful endeavors.
His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, Nasarawa State Governor, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, Sen. Aliyu Wadada, Rt. Hon. Musa Ahmed Mohammed, Nasarawa State Accountant General, Hon. Mohammed Sani Otto, Nasarawa Local Government Council Chairman including Emirs of Kano, Kazaure, Kaltungo, Kagara, Lafia, Keffi, Doma, Loko etc. witnessed the commissioning ceremony and observed Jumma'at prayer behind the Chief Imam of Nasarawa, Sheikh Barr. Yahaya Ahmad Danbaba.
